OUR SPECIALTIES

Dry vans are the most required truck types in the market. For a growing carrier company, the essential part is considered to have a guide in this rough market that allows you to grab the most profitable offer. Our dispatch service simplifies your work by keeping track of options across multiple load boards to the max without you even leaving either the office or driver’s seat.

“Reefer” is slang for refrigerated. The truck is your standard semi-cab. However, the reefer really is just the trailer. A “reefer truck,” then, is a semi pulling a refrigerated trailer, designed to haul perishable goods. These trailers differ from cooling vans, which are just insulated and vented. What makes a reefer trailer different? Reefers include an active cooling system. Thus, you can transport frozen as well as refrigerated freight.

A reefer could also be temperature adjusted to haul heated goods as well. However, this is much less common.

A flatbed truck is a large vehicle with a flat body and no sides or roof around the bed. Typically, these types of trucks are used to transport heavy loads that won’t be compromised in bad weather or on rough roads. Their unique bed design is ideal for loads that would be too wide for a truck with an enclosed body. Drivers can load them quickly and easily with use of forklifts and other like types of equipment.

A step deck trailer is designed to carry cargo that is too tall to go on a flatbed truck. A step deck truck can help you haul loads without having to obtain special permits for exceeding the legal height limit. These trailers have a lower and upper deck, hence the use of the term “step” in the name. This also makes it much easier to load and unload equipment, especially with a forklift.

There are different types of step deck trailers, such as fixed-neck, gooseneck, or removable gooseneck, which you can use depending on your needs for loading and unloading. A fixed-neck trailer has limited options, whereas a removable gooseneck can be loaded either on the front or back of the trailer. How tall is a step deck trailer? These trailers typically have a lower deck height of 3 feet 6 inches.

Power only trucking is a capacity solution where the carrier only provides a truck and driver — this power unit hauls a trailer that is either leased or owned by a 3PL or shipper.

Power only trucking is a full truckload capacity solution that occurs when a carrier provides only a driver and a tractor (also known as a “power unit”).

In power only trucking, the driver does not bring a trailer, but instead hooks up to and hauls a trailer that is either leased or owned by a 3PL or shipper.

3PLs (and sometimes shippers) will specifically engage the carrier for power only capacity.
